Welcome to our official bonus round one. Bonus Round 0 is now officially closed! Don’t worry, though – BR0.5 is open for one more week alongside this round. This time, the theme is historical settings.

If you have an idea for something you’d like to see, please leave a time period, the characters involved and any other details as a PROMPT below. Then read through everyone else’s prompts, and leave a FILL for any which catch your eye. Fills can be in any media, and they need not be long, but please put a little effort in – if anyone starts spamming this post for points, we’ll be able to tell.

You should place PROMPT/FILL, your current team affiliation and a brief summary in the comment title. NSFW prompts and fills should mention this in the summary or at the top of the post.

You will be awarded five points per prompt for the first five prompts you leave. The first three fills posted for each prompt will receive 15 points, the next three 10 points, and the next three 5 points. Prompts with ten or more fills will no longer receive fill points.

You can post prompts or fills for any ship this round, including gen/platonic ones (which should be indicated with an & as above). However, you may not fill your own prompt. We also encourage people not to fill prompts from their teammates, although the points will not be deducted if you do.

Bonus round fills can include links provided they are publicly viewable. Works can also be cross-posted to other websites, as there is no anonymity requirement in bonus rounds. However, works posted directly to comments will be limited to 16,000 characters by the Dreamwidth comment limit. Longer works should therefore be divided between multiple comments.

Remember, Team Chuck can participate in bonus rounds, and if you change teams, points earned will transfer with you until the end of the team shuffle period.

Fill: Anna/Jo Greek mythology AU (Team Ash/Jo)

Jo stamped her foot uselessly against the floor. Sent to her room again by her mother for stealing a sword from the training grounds. She paced, angry and indignant. They hadn't even punished her for stealing, they just laughed. A woman stealing a sword? It was a joke to them.

Only her mother had taken it seriously and even she just barely put up with Jo's outbursts. What did she think? That Jo would grow out of it? No. It didn't matter what anyone else thought, Jo knew she was meant to be a hero. Her father had done it, why couldn't she?

The stories of her father's accomplishments was what spurred her on. He had done so much in his short lifetime. She wanted to be just like him, maybe even better. But who would give her the chance? Nobody. They all just laughed.

Jo screamed at the wall, frustrated, but jumped back when it suddenly cracked. Had she just done that? Her mother would kill her.

"You are a strong woman Joanna."

Spinning around at the strange voice, Jo met the eyes of another young woman. Flaming hair and robes of the lightest blue and finest gold. She knew this visage.

"Oh Goddess..."
"Yes Joanna. I have been watching you. Your courage, your strength, and your determination. You wish for an opportunity to prove yourself? I believe you have earned it."

Jo could barely speak. Her patron goddess was here in front of her, offering her the chance she had prayed for and she couldn't believe it. As devout as Jo had been she had honestly never expected this. Despite all her prayers and small offerings, she had always expected to make her own way, she hadn't thought that the Gods themselves might want to give it to her.

But wasn't that the way it worked? A hero was called. Perhaps this was her calling at last.

"What must I do? Please, Goddess, I will perform any task. I only ask for a chance to prove myself."
"Indeed."

The Goddess smiled. This was why she had chosen Jo. The girl was willing to prove herself. She did not simply want the fame and the glory, she wanted to earn it. And earn it she would. Anna had high hopes for the girl.

"At my temple, there is a horse waiting for you. In the saddle bags you will find provisions. Food, clothing, knives. Not a sword, I know, but I believe you will find them more useful. You must train hard to learn to use them properly. You will also find a roll of parchment with the location of a teacher. Go to her. She will teach you well. You wanted your chance, and you shall have it."

Breathless, Jo fell to her knees.

"Praise you Goddess. Thank you. I will not fail. I will make you proud."
"I expect no less of you Joanna. You should prepare yourself. I expect you at the temple by dawn tomorrow. Your journey has begun. Say farewell to those you know. The girl they know is leaving. Next time they lay eyes on you, a woman and a hero you will be."

With that the Goddess was gone, as quickly as she came. Jo sat back on her heels, her heart pounding and her mind reeling. It was finally time. Time to prove herself the hero that she knew she was. Finally, she would show them all who she could be.
